Call for 2027 Mini Symposium Proposals
2027 ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING
Glasgow, Scotland March 16-20, 2027
CALL FOR MINI SYMPOSIUM PROPOSALS
Due Date: February 16, 2025 at 11:59 PM CST
Mini-Symposium Proposal Submission for the 2027 SRI Annual Scientific Meeting is now open.
You must be a current SRI Member to submit a proposal.
More information can be found here if you wish to renew your membership dues or submit an application.
The symposia mission is to provide an international forum for scientific exchange, highlighting cutting edge topics in basic, translational, and clinical research in reproductive science that reflect the collective depth and breadth of scientific endeavor within SRI.
Preference will be given to the proposals relevant to the meeting theme, Global Advances in Reproductive Sciences. Global should be interpreted broadly in the context of speakers as well as topics with priority given to those spanning common challenges, processes/mechanisms and cross-disciplinary advances.
When considering speakers, SRI encourages diversity in all aspects including, but not limited to gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, social/economic background, country of origin or working environment, and physical ability.
To encourage more membership involvement, we are offering two types of submissions. You may propose either 1) a Mini-Symposium Topic/Title alone, or 2) a developed Mini-Symposium proposal.
Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Each symposium will be two hours in duration (four 30-minute speakers, including presentation and Q&A)
- There should be a total of four speakers, with one potentially serving as a moderator of the symposium, if they have not served in this capacity in the past three years
- Consider the gender, geographic location, institution, stage of career and race/ethnicity among other factors when proposing speakers.
- For budgetary reasons, a maximum of 2 non-SRI member speakers per submission. If you are unsure if someone is a member, please contact SRI Meetings Manager, Jamie Brouws (she/her) at jbrouws@sri-online.org.
- In addition, suggested speakers should not have given an oral presentation in a mini symposium at the SRI annual meeting within the past 3 years (2023-2025 meetings). Agendas for the last 4 meetings can be found here:
Please be prepared to provide the following for your mini-symposium proposal submission:
- Name and contact information of person proposing the mini symposium
- A description of the symposium that will allow the Program Committee to understand the content, scope, and objectives. This will include:
- Full name, title, and contact information for each speaker
- Two suggestions for Moderators (see guidelines above)
- While you may confirm that your proposed speakers are willing to participate if selected, please also share with them that the final speaker selection will be determined by the Program Committee to ensure a balanced program.
- Balance of speakers from North America vs other continents.
- Speakers must represent diverse institutions and geographic areas.
- Recently published quality peer reviewed papers by the proposed speakers
Submission of a proposal indicates agreement to the following:
- Should the symposium be accepted, the SRI Program Committee reserves the right to modify the topic, proposed moderators, and proposed speakers. This is to ensure a balanced and diverse program.
- SRI is a small organization of dedicated colleagues, and we regret that we are unable to offer any speaker honoraria.
Please complete the entire submission form before submitting your proposal.
Alternatively, if there is an area that you would like to see covered by others, please forward that suggestion directly to SRI Meetings Manager, Jamie Brouws (she/her) at jbrouws@sri-online.org.
We look forward to your proposal!
Best wishes,
