SRI Signs Letter to Extend Medicaid Coverage for Pregnant Patients

The SRI has joined the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs, March of Dimes, and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine in sending a letter to House and Senate leadership urging them to include legislation to extend Medicaid coverage for pregnant patients to a full year postpartum in the next COVID-19 response package. The letter acknowledges the continuous coverage provision included in the Families First Coronavirus Response Act that ensures women will not lose coverage after 60 days postpartum for the duration of the current public health emergency, but encourages them to enact a longer-term solution by passing the bipartisan Helping MOMS Act (H.R. 4996).
