I don’t need 2020 vision to see where SRI is headed in the New Year!
As we begin a new year and a new decade, our vision is clear and I can see great things on the horizon for the society. The first half of any year is always a busy time for us. First, the Council and staff worked hard over the last eight months to draft a new vision, mission, and strategic plan. The new mission and vision statements better reflect the purpose and objectives of the society.
Mission: To advance reproductive and women’s health care through (1) outstanding basic, translational, and clinical science, (2) training and mentoring future generations of investigators, (3) advocacy targeting funding agencies, policy makers, donors and the community and, (4) promoting women’s health globally.
Vision: To lead outstanding multidisciplinary basic, translational, and clinical research, mentorship and training, and advocacy in reproductive science and research and women's health.
We would also like your feedback on the new strategic plan, so watch for an email with a summary of the plan where you will be ask to comment. This is YOUR society and we want the plan to reflect the needs and values of our members.
Secondly, we’re only six weeks away from the 67th Annual Meeting! This is where you showcase your best work and come together with your colleagues to network and collaborate. Drs. Burd and Segars, along with the Program Committee, have put together a phenomenal program and I couldn’t be more excited. When you’re in Vancouver, please say “hi” to Leah, Michelle, Morgan, and Ciera who work hard every day to support the mission and vision of SRI.
“What did the little champagne bottle call his father? Pop!” (in hindsight, that joke wasn’t very funny)
See you soon!
