Purpose

The Research Policy Affairs Committee (RPAC) is composed of society members representing geographic regions that reflect the SRI Membership. The RPAC shall review and formulate recommendations on issues affecting reproductive health that impact the general public and public policy. The Committee shall be responsible for the preparation and dissemination of public pronouncements and information regarding reproductive science and health.

Composition and Appointment

In addition to the Chair, the ideal size for this committee would at least 6 members. The Research Policy Affairs Committee via Zoom monthly throughout the year and communicates via email as needed. The committee may also meet in-person at the Annual Meeting. Committee members can expect to dedicate about 6-10 hours per year toward participating on this committee.  

Responsibilities

  • Represent the SRI membership in promoting public awareness of the importance of reproductive science and health.
  • Represent the SRI membership in communicating with government agencies, other scientific societies, and advocacy groups.
  • Inform the SRI memberships on government policies, funding opportunities, and research advancement.
  • Serve as advisors to the SRI Council on policy issues related to the mission of the Society
